This isn’t about piracy anymore, because the bills don’t actually do anything to stop it. It’s about being able to reach the rest of the internet, without having to worry about what the entertainment and recording industries have shut off to the rest of us. These bills give them broad powers, with little judicial oversight.

This isn’t for the people, by the people. This is for selected industries, by the lobbyists, at a huge detriment to the rest of us.

If you want to do something about it, print and mail letters, or even call your state’s senators and representatives. Make your voice HEARD that you don’t support this. Or do both.

Call it what you like, Mardis Gras, Carnivale, Spring Break, you’re all here for the same reason. Passions loosed, inhibitions discarded, life released. You’re here to party, and there’s no town for a party like the Big Easy.

Dark alleys, ancient magic, secret societies, they all come to the bayou eventually. There is darkness here, darkness and evil of a kind that the rest of the country, the rest of the -world- can only imagine.

Isn’t that why you brought your light? You shimmer with it, with the potential of deeds done on a scale we can only call heroic. You want to save the damsel, fight the demon, expose the grifter, don’t you?
